What am I supposed to do if an employee’s work authorization has an expiration date?

Work authorization expiration dates are only an issue if the employee is expected to continue working past the expiration date.  If  no expectation of this nature exists, the expiration date is not an issue.  If employment is expected to continue, the employee must report to HR and present supplemental documentation that proves that their work authorization has been extended and they are still eligible to be employed by UTSA.  As with all I-9 documents, the documents that HR examines to prove such authorization must be originals in accordance with Federal law.
