Unable to download into Excel from PeopleSoft

QUESTION: I am unable to upload an excel spreadsheet from PeopleSoft.

ANSWER:  UT Shared Services upgraded PeopleSoft with PeopleTool 8.55 over the July 30 – July 31, 2016 weekend and as a result of this upgrade, some users may be affected due to the tools installation.

Each user will need to clear cache on all browsers normally used to log into PeopleSoft to allow all stored cache from the prior tools to be removed from the browser settings and establish the upgrade needed to properly log into PeopleSoft.  Additionally, if you have stored the PeopleSoft link as a Favorite, you will need to delete and resave the updated version as a new Favorite. 

How to clear your cache/history

Users may experience difficulty in downloading files from PeopleSoft to Excel especially if Internet Explorer (IE) is set as the default browser.  This issue is related between browsers and Excel so an update with the Excel application will be needed in order to allow files to properly open in each browser.
